I have a TV with a single hdmi input. If I buy a receiver with 3 hdmi inputs and 1 hdmi output and put the output into the TV, then the receiver should act as an hdmi splitter correct?

I am from Australia and I got a Home Theater receiver from the United States. I have been thinking about it for a while and thought it would be plausible for it to play Australian signals.

Could I hook an Australian TV tuner into it and have it work?

B) Is it possible to achieve DTS 7.1 surround sound with separates? Almost all amplifiers I’ve seen are mono or two-channel.

AUDIO / VIDEO CONNECTIONS for an all in one Home Theater system?

I just got an LG all in one Home theater… i am pretty lazy with TV technology, so I just got it out of the box, hooked and placed the speakers in their place. LG only provided a very primitive video cable so every connection between the system and the TV is missing. I will go later to buy the cables but I really dont know the difference between S-video, video component, digital audio…. nooooothing (last time I checked, everything worked with yellow, white and red )… I dont know if this could be relevant but the TV is a sony bravia (I thnk it has pretty much every input or output port available) and the HT is a regular semi-primitive all-in-one-box LG system.

I’d appreciate anyone´s help with any of the following:

1) Is it possible to have a nintendo Wii and a dish receiver connected to the Home Theater DVD (that acts as the home theater receiver). If so, what connections do I need?

2) which type of connection is better, and how expensive can they be?

Don’t say something like “ps2 optical to receiver component”.
That don’t tell me anything. Exactly what do I need and where do I need to plug it into?
